Expanding Our Conservation Reach: Proyecto Tití’s Mega Corridor Conservation Initiative
Proyecto Tití and our partners are proud to announce our next major conservation initiative—an ambitious effort to create a forest corridor that connects the Cerro Maco region in Bolívar with the Coraza Forest Reserve in Sucre. This new project builds on our years of experience protecting and restoring habitat for cotton-top tamarins and marks our expansion into a broader landscape-scale approach. Through the identification high-priority areas for conservation and restoration, we aim to reconnect fragmented patches of tropical dry forest and create a functional corridor that will allow cotton-top tamarins and other wildlife to safely move between habitat areas.
This new corridor will link key conservation strongholds like Los Titíes de San Juan Forest Reserve and Santuario de Flora y Fauna Los Colorados in Bolívar with the mountainous forests of the Coraza Reserve in Colosó, Sucre. The project represents a critical step in our long-term vision of a connected landscape where wildlife and ecosystems can thrive. With strong support from local communities, landowners, NGO’s, and environmental authorities, we’re combining ecological science with grassroots engagement to ensure that this corridor not only protects forests, but also brings tangible benefits to the people who call these lands home. Stay tuned as we begin laying the groundwork for this transformative next chapter in cotton-top tamarin conservation!
