My
Schedule:
-
6:30am–7:00am
-
We wait until most of the other monkeys in
the forest wake up and then my entire family
leaves our sleeping site and starts looking
for something good to eat.
-
Traveling:
We sometimes have to travel long distances
to find food depending on the time of year.
In the dry season, there is not much fruit
so we spend more time hunting for insects.
But, once our bellies are full it’s time for
nap time!
-
10:00am-2:00pm
-
Resting:
The adults in the group use this rest time
to huddle next to one another with their
tails curled and rest or groom one another.
-
Playtime:
The younger animals like me, never really
want to rest very long…we like to play! My
favorite play partner is my twin or my
younger brother or sister. Mom and Dad are
not really into playing that much…they say
I’m too rough!
-
Predator lookout:
Sometimes, I’ll help the “sentry” in my
group to watch for predators. We always
have one of the adults on the look-out for
any potential predator no matter what we are
doing! I’m still trying to get the hang of
it, so sometimes I will join one of the
adults for a practice session but I would
really rather go play with my twin!
-
Eating:
My favorite food to eat is fruit and tasty
insects, but sometimes the sap from trees
are a nice treat.
-
4:30pm-6:30am
-
Sleeping:
After spending a hectic day looking for
food, playing, and learning new things from
the adults in my group, I’m tired! My
family looks for a new place to sleep every
night before it gets dark. We all huddle
together to enjoy a restful sleep until
tomorrow!
