Proyecto Tití is working to reduce the number of native wildlife that are kept as pets in rural communities. Most communities do not distinguish between domestic and exotic wildlife and do not understand the long-term consequences of keeping exotic wildlife as pets. Proyecto Tití works with communities to provide alternatives to keeping wildlife as pets.
BONDING WITH DOMESTIC PETS
Proyecto Tití has partnered with Disney’s Animal Kingdom to help foster a stronger bond between kids and their dogs by providing dog training classes. Having a trained dog reduces the desire to have wildlife as pets.
CARING FOR DOMESTIC PETS
In 2013, Proyecto Tití partnered with the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine to provide health care for dogs and cats including shots, and spay and neuter procedures. They are also helped to teach families how to care for their pets.
